It must be Christmas as the partying has begun. On Wednesday, December 2, the Friends of Rye Art Gallery held a party in the gallery, a finger buffet made by members of the committee washed down with the ever popular mulled wine.

The evening raised £380 for the gallery with the help of some very generous raffle prizes donated by local businesses – a voucher from Rye Retreat, a mosaic kit from Craft Magic, a cream tea for two at the George In Rye, some new books from The Rye Bookshop, and  a box of biscuits from The Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

The gallery donated a glass vase –  just one of the many great Christmas presents to be found among the artwork, textile, ceramics and jewellery in the gallery in the current exhibition which runs into the New Year.
