New Bond shakes and stirs

On Monday October 24 the latest James Bond film “Spectre” opened at the Kino and the premiere in Rye was a special occasion with pre-film drinks and canapés (small pieces of bread or pastry with a savoury topping).

Not everybody though (see above) had their medium dry martinis with lemon peel shaken, not stirred (as Bond very specifically orders), but they did dress up for the occasion.

The film was amazing, with the opening sequence (traditionally “over the top”) being set in Mexico at the time of the Day of the Dead. It is a roller coaster ride and never slows down until the finale.

Bond is trying to track down the shadowy organisation, S.P.E.C.T.R.E, and is faced by two of the best Bond villains yet, Christoph Waltz and ex-wrestler Dave Bautista.

After the film, the audience were gushing both about the film itself and how well the Kino presented another spectacular event in Rye. This is a “must see” film.
