pril’s choice for the Salts book club is Rose Tremain’s “The Road Home”, winner of the Orange Broadband prize for fiction in 2008. But, although it is not a new book, it is still topical as it is about Lev who is making his way from Eastern Europe to Britain seeking work. It is said to give a fascinating “insight into the deep strangeness of the British”.
The book club meets at Salts Farm Shop on the last Thursday of every month at 10:30 am and this book choice will be launched at the meeting on March 31. So, if that date is not convenient, knowing the book title and author means that you have time to read it for the following meeting on Thursday April 28 to discuss the book.
