The courtyard of Needles Passage, the link between Cinque Ports Street and The Mint, will host an alfresco shopping evening on Thursday, July 22. The event will be hosted by Ali Waite of Cosy dot Company, Martin Kyran of Sailors of Rye and Mark Walter from The Green House. Shoppers and browsers will be able to enjoy complimentary prosecco, beer and elderflower cordial, and there will be a ten percent discount on all sales during the evening between 4pm and 8pm.
The three shops offer an eclectic range of homeware, furniture, paintings, clothes and plants. Ali at Cosy dot Company sells decorative cookware, small furniture and antique floral paintings gleaned from French brocante and châteaux. Martin, whose shop name pays homage to Rye’s nautical history, focuses on handmade, vintage and locally sourced products specialising in goods for the home, street and beach including giftware, clothes, cookware and cards, avoiding anything mass produced. And The Green House, which owner Mark describes as “an Aladdin’s cave of delight”, sells plants, pots, plantstands, baskets, mirrors and cushions as well as antique bamboo and rattan furniture.
The evening promises to be a great opportunity to socialise and shop in an outdoors setting, to explore the wonderful variety of goods that each of these three shops has on offer, and to indulge in some retail therapy over a free glass of booze. See you there!
Cosy dot Company is open between 11am and 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Sailors of Rye opens every day apart from Tuesday, and Mark opens The Green House throughout the week between 10am and 5:30pm.
