The firefighters’ Christmas Day parcel delivery service proved as popular as ever last year with approximately 350 parcels delivered to people in and around Rye, writes Seana Lanigan. One of the side-effects is that as Santa proceeds up the road to deliver to neighbours, his bell-ringing brings others to the doors of their houses and attracts excited beeps from passing cars.
