Sunday July 19 will be observed in Rye as “Sea Sunday” by Churches Together, supporting in particular Missions to Seafarers. Worship at 2pm on Strand Quay will be preceded by a bring-your-own picnic at 1pm. As High Tide is also at 1pm the picnic needs an early start and church leaders plan to arrive by boat. Churches Together in Rye and District, representing some 28 churches, will then celebrate the countryside on Sunday 30 August as summer comes to a close with a service at St Mark’s Staplecross (Source: Churches Together)
