Beckley Rangers Eagles under 18s football team travelled to Tonbridge to play Tonbridge junior blues in a clash of the only unbeaten teams in the Crowborough league division A. For the first time this season Beckley started very quickly and dominated the first twenty minutes creating numerous chances only to go behind when a rash tackle in the box resulted in a penalty.

Beckley quickly levelled after a great move ended with Oli Skinner crashing a shot past the home keeper, and Beckley continued to dominate, but sloppy defending saw them go behind just before the break to a close range header.

The second half saw Beckley still playing good football and finally get a deserved equaliser when the ball fell to Joseph Fraser in the box. He smashed a shot into the top corner but the game had turned rather feisty and bad luck and some baffling decisions conspired against Beckley.

These included a bewildering red card for Ollie Bun and a blatant penalty turned down. Tonbridge claimed the winner after a swift counter attack.

A very frustrating day which proved that the best team doesn’t always win on the day. MPL productions and Lankelma Man of the Match was shared between Oli Skinner and Jordan Swaine. On Sunday November 29 weather permitting, Beckley Rangers Eagles will entertain Wadhurst at the Maltings, Peasmarsh.
