Icklesham Casuals 2nd football team picked up a point in a 1-1 draw away to Sandhurst 2nds on Saturday March 1, writes David Mayne. Icklesham dominated the first half of this match but were denied a win by a string of excellent saves by the Sandhurst goalkeeper. Despite several injuries, the goalkeeper played on and only left the field after an hour when beaten by a long range bullet from Casuals’ Phil Badrock. Sandhurst did come into the game late on and grabbed an equaliser from a free kick, scored by Andrew Turner. Neither side could beat the wind though, which made control hard all afternoon on a surprisingly firm pitch.

Ickleshams 1st team match at home to Hollington United 2nds was postponed. There are two home games this Saturday March 7, with Icklesham 1st team taking on Ticehurst, kicking-off at 1.30pm, followed at 3.30pm when Icklesham 2nd team entertain Hawkhurst United 2nds. On Sunday March 8, Icklesham Veterans take on Peche Hill Select at Tilekiln with an 11am start.
