Beckley Rangers travelled away to Pembury in the Crowborough and District under-18 A league division game. They started on the front foot, camped in the Pembury half from the kick off. The breakthrough came from Sam Roberts’ great 20yd shot into top corner. With continued pressure and some missed opportunities it took Rangers until just before half-time for Josh Green to break free and calmly slot the ball home for Beckley to go into the break 2-0 up.

The second half started where Rangers left off and with Oli Skinner’s great run past two Pembury players he drove the shot home to make it 3-0. With Josh Zon dominating the midfield for Beckley, he got the goal his performance deserved, with a shot from just inside area into the bottom corner, taking Rangers to 4-0.

A mention must go to the Beckley back four – Joe Swain, Charlie Newman, Joseph Fraser and Brad Sayer – keeping Pembury down to only two good chances during the match, one of which they took at the end of the game to make the final score Pembury 1 Beckley Rangers 4. The Lankelma and Master Pump Ltd man of match for Rangers was Josh Zon.

Next week’s match is at home to Rotherfield, kick off 11am at The Maltings, Peasmarsh.
