Hastings United’s keeper was on top form to help halt Beckley Rangers two match unbeaten run as they went down 1-3 to United. In a very close fought game Rangers went ahead with Charlie Newman heading home Sam Garner’s corner. Beckley then piled on the pressure with one shot hitting the post, and the Hastings keeper had to pull off a series of great saves. United also had their chances and equalised with a well driven shot before the break.

The second half was another even affair with Rangers having a pair of one-on-one attacks but failing to convert either. Midway through the second half Hastings broke through a solid looking Rangers defence to take the lead with a shot that gave Beckley’s keeper no chance. With Rangers pushing forward looking for an equaliser they got caught with a superb counter attack and Hastings scored again with a goal that finished the match at 1-3 to United.

The Lankelma man of match was Bradley Sayer. Rangers are away to Pembury Utd U18s next Sunday.
