Residents asked to revolt

I would like to draw to the attention of all the people who love the unique quality of Winchelsea Beach the proposed development of three three storey dwellings on the site of Kennel Cottage at the seaward end of Dogs Hill Road. They have been designed with little or no consideration for the residents of Vue Gris Nez, especially the flats where the windows face the beach, thereby having their view and sunlight obstructed.

You can be rest assured that these properties are not being built as affordable homes. If this project goes ahead it will set a precedent for other land that could become available nearby and in time the whole area could become an estate and enough of that has been seen in Rye.

You can object to this over- development of the site by writing to the Rother District Council’s planning department in Bexhill. We need as much support as possible if we are to keep this area as a breath of fresh air between Hastings and Camber. An acceptable solution is one two storey house filling a similar area to the present structure. Once land has been built on, it is lost forever. The planning application reference is  RR/2015/2035/P
