Local Quakers are offering three open evenings at which you can learn about the Quakers when they share their “individual and common insights through informal presentations, discussions, questions and an experience of Quaker silent worship”. The three sessions are on Tuesday evenings – October 7,14 and 21 – at Tilling Green Community Centre in Mason Road, starting at 7.30pm.
“Quaker Quest” is an opportunity to explore the Quaker way, which they believe is simple, spiritual and contemporary, and includes a search for the sacredness of each person, an encounter with the divine through the power of stillness, a journey together in shared responsibility, a commitment to the ways of equality and non-violence, an engagement to build an inclusive society and a celebration of life in all its diversity and wholeness.
The three sessions will look at Quaker worship; Quakers, Christianity and the spiritual path; and Quaker faith in action. For further information call John Gurney on 01797 222442 or email Peter Aviss.
