The Ypres (Wipers) kicks off a summer of music with bands and singers three weekends running on the specially erected stage in the pub’s garden looking towards the harbour, alongside a helpfully sited outside bar – and (possibly) a BBQ. Kicking off from 3 pm each day, the music features afternoon and evening (depending, of course, on the weather) this Saturday and Sunday (August 15/16) and next (August 22/23) and for three days over the Bank Holiday (August 29, 30 and 31).

The featured groups include MT Vessels Live (from 3-5:30) and Total Mayhem (6-8:30) on Aug 15, Blair and Marina Osang/Phil Trainor (Aug 16), Leigh Highwood Band and Wakin Snakes (Aug 22), and Sam Calver and Carl Burgess & The Roosters (Aug 23), with (over the Bank Holiday weekend) Robin Bibi and Rufus Stone (Aug 29), Little Devils and The Desert Turkeys (Aug 30), and finally 1066 Rockitmen (4-7pm) on Aug 31.

On Friday evenings between 9:30 and 11:30pm you can listen indoors to the Sharpees (Aug 14), Electric Experience (Aug 21) and the Angelo Tristan Band (Aug 28). For more information www.yprescastleinn.co.uk (Source: Ypres)
