Rye duo The Bling Crosbies are bringing a Starry, Starry Night to the Simply Italian restaurant on The Strand on Thursday October 30, with a fun, cosmic-themed cabaret. I’m one of them – Ellie – the other half is Alain Du Sel. We’ll be performing hits from stars ranging from Frank Sinatra to Amy Winehouse, and including songs such as Fly Me To The Moon and Don McLean’s Vincent.
The evening includes a three-course set menu for £25.95 and there will be prizes for the audience members with the most sparkling outfits. We’ve been performing as The Bling Crosbies for just over a year after meeting at Rye’s Wall Of Sound ensemble, run by singing teacher and vocal coach Sandra Scott. We like to mix jazzy classics with humour and trademark twinkly outfits and regularly perform in restaurants and dining pubs, at festivals and at private parties and weddings.
Forthcoming shows in the Rye area include launching a Christmas shopping bonanza at the St Michael’s Hospice shop in Rye at 1pm on Thursday November 20.
