More than 100 people converged on the new scout centre for a scout fest to celebrate its opening. Fire lighting, dough twists, knotting, tent erecting, wood branding and first aid were among the many activities and there was the chance to make valuable donations. The grand opening will be next year and the scouts are hoping that Chief Scout Bear Grylls will be able to attend. Scout leader William Perfitt said: “We have to finish off the grounds with grass seeding, fencing and professional signage.
