ARRCC, Rye’s local charity providing Activities, Respite, Rehabilitation and Care Centres for physically and sensory impaired adults, is looking for performers for its Christmas variety show. Auditions will be held on November 14-15 at the School Creative Centre on New Road for comics, poets, musicians, actors, dancers and singers between 5pm and 7pm on Friday (November 14) and 10am and 4pm on Saturday.
Sam Williams, ARRCC’s events and theatre co-ordinator, told Rye News that he has already had a lot of interest from people around the area, including local schools. The show itself will run on December 18-19 and there will be different performers each night: “We hope that performers will bring their friends and family to the show to cheer them on in support of the charity.”
ARRCC took over the lease of the building in February 2014 and this will be their first major show: “We are keen for the Rye community to use the space as well,” said Williams. “We want to welcome people in and give them ideas on how they can use it.”
