To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.
Fingers crossed that lockdown will be lifted by March and you can view some of the RSA member’s work at their spring exhibition, entitled “There will be growth in spring”, at Rye Art Gallery from March 20 – May 1. In addition, the RSA will be hosting their 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021.
This week, the artist in focus is Gus Cummins RA

Born in London in 1943, Cummins studied art for six years (Sutton School of Art and Wimbledon School of Art) before arriving at the Royal College of Art in 1964. He stayed for three years and then embarked on a long teaching career, including three decades at the Royal Academy Schools.
You can also find more of Gus’s work on his website guscummins.com and RSA website
