ARRCC, the arts, health and well-being charity located at the Creative Centre, New Road, Rye has announced the appointment of Trish Bishop, centre manager of Folkestone ARRCC, to take over as acting chief executive officer (CEO) following the retirement of Grace O’Neill.
Grace O’Neill joined ARRCC Rye as the centre manager some 15 years ago before becoming CEO. She had taken leave of absence earlier this year to be with her eldest daughter in Australia.
Tony Moore, chair of trustees, said: “Grace O’Neill decided to take retirement on March 8 and Tony Giles, one of our trustees, had agreed to take over. Tragically however, he suffered a fatal heart attack the following day.” Tony Giles, who lived in Hastings St Leonards, had been a trustee of ARCC for several years and had built a reputation for restoring charities to financial health. His funeral will take place on Tuesday April 3.
