5+2 = art sale

There’s a chance to see – and buy – work by local artists who are part of the “5 + 2” Collective this weekend. Their exhibition takes place in the main hall at St Mary’s Centre, Lion Street over the weekend December 7 and 8 from 10am-5pm. Free entry.

So why the mathematical name? Some few years ago the collective was just the ‘3 OF US’, which then became 4, then 5, and this year, when 2 additional artists joined and completed the group, we decided on ‘5+2’ . It has a certain ring about it, doesn’t it?

7 is our lucky number so there are now enough of us to warrant hiring the main hall at St Mary’s centre. This is the third and last exhibition this year, but further dates are planned for 2025.

As it is now officially the run-up to Christmas, visitors will find plenty of smaller, gift-sized works of art at very reasonable prices including originals as well as prints, greetings cards, miniatures and paintings in various mediums, including textiles. There will be fairy lights and Christmas cheer and lots of inspirational and original artwork presented (pun intended!) to put you in a festive mood.

Jenny Bush

There are painted pebbles and 2D artwork from Jenny Bush; paintings and artwork created using fabrics from Vivienne Challans; abstracts and mini photo-framed paintings by Janet Haken; originals and prints by Phil Presland; tiny framed paintings, cards and Christmas decorations by Kathy Russell; miniatures painted on trinket boxes and pendants along with 2D prints and original paintings by Wendy Sabine; last, but by no means least, Jayne Stevens organic-inspired montages.

Not only all of the above, but visit our show and get a 10% discount on a hot drink at the Kino Café next door.

A warm welcome awaits you.
