The Plough in Udimore hosted wonderful local talents Timberlina, musician extraordinaire (Tim Redfern) and Dr Aspalls, the brilliant piano player (Phil Law) on Sunday, January 12. As always the two musicians entertained the audience who loved Tim’s songs which are all laments with a blues influence, about climate issues, plastic being used too much as well as being left lying around on the beaches.

Timberlina taking a break

The two extroverts have their own following especially when performing in Rye but it was nice to see new faces as well. Their act hopefully convinces new people that climate is one of the most important issues we are facing. They describe the show as “Rebel Jazz & Teasing Satire to Escape the Tyranny”. They can be seen again on February 16 at the Ypres, 5pm. For further information follow them on www.timberlina.co.uk

Great food and cocktails

The Plough is a quintessential English country pub with lovely views from the garden over the Brede Valley, in the summer of course. It is only two miles from Rye up the Udimore road. One can enjoy a fantastic meal of local fish and other locally-sourced food.

The hope is that they can have a musical experience once a month. For any information or booking a table please call 01797 223 318 or email: info@theploughrye.co.uk. They also have a website: www.theploughrye.co.uk.
