To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.
You can view some of the RSA member’s work at their Spring Exhibition, entitled ‘There will be Growth in Spring’, at Rye Art Gallery, which is open until May 14 2021. In addition, the RSA will be hosting their 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021.
This week, the artist in focus is Siobhan O’Hanlon
For almost 20 years Siobhan O’Hanlon has developed her passion for working directly from the landscape. Her process involves translating sketches into paintings and printmaking. Siobhan has also began to develop work from the sketches using glass, ceramic and enamelled copper. “This transition into a more physical and elemental way of working is satisfying as part of a process ….. supported by drawing in the landscape from my van studio” Siobhan said.
You can see more of Siobhan’s work on the RSA website
