Following the success of its summer tour of Much Ado About Nothing, Sussex based Shakespearean theatre company Bowler Crab Productions has announced its involvement in the Rye Arts Festival this year. Stephen J John, Artistic Director, said: “We are thrilled to have been invited back to perform at The Mermaid Inn after our experimental Macbeth performance was so well received back in the spring. It is a pleasure to be part of the Rye Arts Festival and on Thursday September 21 we will be premiering A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a dining experience we have developed which will include a performance and a three-course supper at The Mermaid Inn, Rye.”
The cast of this magical romantic comedy will include Sabina Arthur, who recently appeared in HBO’s Game of Thrones and The Vote at the Donmar Warehouse; Oliver Towner, the lead in the feature film, Accountable, recently announced for London’s FrightFest film festival; and Eleanor Stourton who appeared as Lady Macbeth at The Mermaid Inn.
Tickets will be sold for this event directly by The Mermaid Inn, Mermaid St, Rye TN31 7EY (01797 223065).
When asked what else is ahead for Bowler Crab, Stephen said:
“Over the autumn/winter period, Bowler Crab will be returning with an indoor tour of Kent and Sussex with Othello, our eleventh full production which will be performing during October, November and December.”
In the meantime, Bowler Crab will be touring schools and private events throughout the year with productions of Macbeth; to hire or for more information call 07801 893115 or visit www.bowler-crab.com.
