A beautifully illustrated book is available from the sweet shop Britcher and Rivers on the High Street. The story tells the tale of Whistle the cat who escapes to Rye with the assistance of a seagull named Cedric. She sees a job advertised in the sweet shop window for a mouser. It turns out that a group of mice are using the shop as a rave venue each night, creating mess and mayhem for the owner “Sweet Shop Tony”. The story describes how Whistle saves the day.

Based on a true story, the book is written by Tony Moxon and illustrated by Barbara Denham. It is available from the sweet shop at £5.
