Artists in Fairlight Cove are opening their studios to the public as part of the Coastal Currents Arts Festival this weekend.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into the studios of local artists to discover the arts and crafts of the area and includes works in many mediums: ceramics, printmaking, painting, textiles, digital art and sculpture. Visitors can explore studio spaces, talk to artists and see them at work, whilst exploring the beautiful scenery and views in Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve and along the cliff.

Printmaker Annie Soudain is at the top of the village in Coastguard Cottages, with a scenic walk across the Firehills to arrive at the home of painter Anna Wilson-Patterson, while a stroll down Rockmead Road and along the lane will bring you to the home of printmaker Anna O’Neill and a host of her friends. A short bus or cycle trip away in Pett Level is painter and sculptor Tim Riddhough.

There is a free 66 page guide and online guide listing all the artists included https://www.coastalcurrents.org.uk.

Studios open on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday 10 from 11am – 6pm with free entry.

For refreshments, Fairlight Cove has the contemporary Bale House Visitor Centre and the traditional Coastguard Café, plus at the heart of the village The Cove, with a sunny coastal garden. Down at the beach at Pett Level is Eater’s.
