Last week, members of Design Sussex met together at The George in Rye to discuss the rebranding and future of the professional creative and design organisation.
John Cowell one of the founders of the creative club, presented the history of Design Sussex and the reasons for the change of identity to FUSE – to widen the club to the southeast and to attract professionals from all creative backgrounds.
Peter Stimpson and Paul Rodger from Good Company & Co presented the big reveal of the logo design and prompted ideas about the nature of the club.
Rye-based artist Nicola Hill, who attended the event in the Long Room, commented: “How lovely to meet the team at The George Hotel and hear more about FUSE, a club that aims to kindle and nurture talent in the area between people that work in the creative industries. I think I can look forward to a warm creative atmosphere at their regular drop-in gatherings (or possibly being ‘InFused’) on the second Tuesdays of the month and hearing more about its development.”
Everyone was enthusiastic about the proposed creative services event next year, where members will exhibit and promote their services to an audience of significant guests from public and private sectors. The club also decided that there will be a fixed meeting every second Tuesday of the month and other gatherings, including “Show and Tell” events, will be arranged by the club on a regular basis.
It was a very successful and enjoyable evening and another milestone for FUSE in its endeavours to being the useful and enjoyable club that the founders and new partners envisaged.
FUSE would like to thank all its members for bringing such valuable ideas to the table and to Kino Rye, Rye Fine Wines, The Globe Inn Marsh and more recently The George, for supporting the growth of FUSE with the use of their venues.
