As part of the Rye Arts Festival, Dr Barry Yates, Sussex Wildlife Trust’s manager at the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, took a group for a two-mile circular walk around the reserve.
Barry pointed out the wildlife and flora that many people miss and explained how the reserve came to be. It was fascinating and everyone learnt a great deal. The reserve is ever-changing and the autumnal tints were in evidence.
Barry later gave a talk in the discovery centre, Time Machine at Rye Harbour. This included some of the area’s wildlife and history using time-lapse photography and high-speed filming.
