The 50th anniversary Rye Arts Festival has still a few days to go with a variety of events to suit all tastes in a fabulous finale.
On Friday, September 24 a wonderful American singer-songwriter is coming to town to entertain the good folks of Rye. Ben Bedford will be bringing just his guitar from the heartland of the USA and will be playing Rye Creative Centre at 8pm. Ben is taken from the mould that includes Woody Guthrie and Bill Morrissey.
On Saturday, September 25, Diva Opera, the UK’s premier chamber opera company brings a programme of classic arias for the audience to enjoy, with four top professional singers from around the world coming to the stage at Rye Creative Centre. This will be a not to be missed gala performance.
And on the final Sunday, September 26, the day starts with a screening of Chocolat at the Kino at 11am. The film stars Juliette Binoche as the young single mother chocolatier who comes to a small provincial French village and sets pulses racing – but changes people’s lives forever! Johnny Depp provides additional eye candy.
Tickets for these events are available online or www.ryeartsfestival.org.uk or from the box office via telephone on 01797 462168, or the box office in the St Mary’s Centre in Lion Street, which is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
