The Lamb Players will be back in town on Thursday August 18, to complete their rehearsals ahead of their first performance of Much Ado About Nothing at 7pm on Friday 19 ( subsequent shows at 7pm on Saturday 20 and 1.30pm & 5pm on Sunday 21). The sounds of some of British theatre’s best talents performing in the garden will drift over the walls of Lamb House once again, along with song and piano music which have become an integral part of their Shakespeare productions. The annual run has become a regular fixture of the Rye summer season, with a large clan of devoted followers, many of whom stay on to enjoy picnics on the lawn after the shows.
This year’s cast includes Clare Holman ( familiar to many as Laura Hobson in Morse & Lewis), Siubhan Harrison, who is currently appearing as Sister Sarah in Guys & Dolls in the West End and Richard Cant, who will be familiar to Bensonites as the station master in the recent BBC Mapp & Lucia adaptation. We are delighted to welcome Clare & Richard to the Lamb flock. Also returning with Siubhan are Tom McKay, Jonathan Broadbent, musical director Rob Delaney, Robert Mountford, Carrie Quinlan, Vicki Lloyd and actor/ producer Francesca Rowan-Plowden. The cast is completed with three more new Lambers, Tom Turner, Danny Easton and Robert Lonsdale, and junior Lamber Finnian Rowan making his second season.
Tickets (£16) are on sale at Grammar School Records in the High Street or online at www.thelambplayers.com
