Winchelsea Arts is delighted to be welcoming Marcio da Silva and his accompanist and soloist Stephanie Gurga to St Thomas’ Church on Saturday, August 31 at 7:30pm when they will be performing songs by Vaughan Williams and Schumann, as well as piano works by Clara Schumann and J S Bach.
As Music Director of Hastings Philharmonic, Marcio needs little introduction to lovers of classical music in Sussex and Kent. He first started singing at nine years old and by 15 he had already founded a vocal ensemble.
Music director of several orchestras and ensembles, composer, teacher, baritone and countertenor, this immensely talented performer will be accompanied by Stephanie Gurga who describes herself as a “versatile musician”. On completion of her Master of Music fortepiano performance at Hochschule für Musik, Freiburg, Germany she received the unusual accolade of unanimous congratulations from the jury. Several invitations to prestigious international music festivals immediately followed.
Tickets for what promises to be an enthralling evening can be bought online at winchelsea-arts.org.uk or locally at Winchelsea Farm Kitchen.
