On Thursday February 25 at 7pm there is a supper and entertainment evening at the Mermaid Inn. The entertainment concerns ghosts, fittingly for this venue.

The evening is “An Audience with M. R. James”  entitled “Old Haunts”. It is a one-man show based on two of his stories”Casting the Runes” and “Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come to You, My Lad”.

The show is presented by Don’t go into the cellar. This company was founded in 2010 and specialises in horror stories in the 19th century tradition.

The artistic director is Jonathan Goodwin and the technical director is Gary Archer.

Supper is served at 7pm with the show at 8pm and the evening can be booked at The Mermaid for £30.
