It was a warm, sunny evening last Friday, June 23 for the annual summer party for members of Rye Castle Museum in the garden of Ypres Tower. The garden walls were decorated with bunting and colourful flags were draped over the entrance gates.

With wine flowing and a wonderful selection of canapes, made by Jen Tomkinson, it was a lovely way to catch up with friends and meet new people, all with an active interest in the history of Rye and in the activities of the museum.

Sadly, Jo Kirkham, chair of the museum was unable to attend but could see just a little of the event through a face time video call.

With the ticket price, donations for wine and proceeds from the raffle, the evening raised an amazing £425 for the running of the museum.

The museum welcomes new members as well as anyone who would be interested in volunteering to help in the running of the museum. For information on joining and how you can help here.
