On Friday, November 29, at the Rye Creative Centre, New Road, a new exhibition opened called ‘Home’ by one of their artists, Nick Archer. He also exhibits in London and beyond.
His work is beautiful and powerful, whether presenting the bee keeper concentrating on his work or a young girl (his daughter) walking away from the admirer “into a world of wonder” as Nick put it.
The meadow is in contrast to the arch the child goes into. The different colours in all of the pictures is effective, drawing the viewer into its depth.
Born in 1963, Nick Archer lives and works in East Sussex. He won several awards when at the Royal Academy in London. (1996-1999)
Local people are lucky to have the opportunity to view his paintings as many are held in private, corporate and public collections around the world. If you are unable to take this opportunity, Nick will also be showing at the London Art Fair with the Long & Ryle Gallery in January 2020. This exhibition will end on January 21 and is open from 12 noon to 7:30pm, closed weekends and bank holidays.
