The Rye Society of Arts (RSA) 65th summer exhibition, in the Dance Hall at the Community Centre in Conduit Hill, finishes Sunday August 21 and the Tuesday Painters 53rd exhibition opens Friday August 19 at 2pm in St Mary’s Centre next to the Kino cinema in Lion Street.
The RSA exhibition has just over 300 exhibits ranging in price from £5,400 for Michael B White’s oil “Wild Baltic Flowers” to Timothy Smith’s ceramic pig for £15. Richard Adams (pictured above) has chalk pastels for around £2,000 and the number of red dots by exhibits suggests sales have been good and the final sales total may be quite considerable.
The list of Tuesday Painters exhibits is not yet available, and is likely to be shorter (though around 200 exhibits are expected), but prices will be cheaper – and, based on previous years, the variety of exhibits should be as great as the RSA’s.
The RSA exhibition is open every day from 10:30am to 5:30pm while the Tuesday Painters open from 2pm on the first day, and then from 10am-6pm each day.
