Last Monday, at the Kings Head, the 1066 Camera Group met for the first annual awards, in the John Wylie Photographic Competition. This annual competition has been set up by Sharon Wylie-Modro, in memory of her brother, John Wylie, who led the camera group for many years. The prizes were awarded by Jean Wylie, John’s wife.
The competition will be held annually and is open to 1066 group members only. Last year’s subject was ‘Water and Life’ , and members were able to submit up to three photos in each of the colour and black and white sections. The 2023 winners are as follows:
Black and white – 1st Kathy Huddle – Seal
Colour – 1st Mike Taylor – Swans
The group typically meets monthly, either for local field trips, or indoors when the weather dictates. We are a group with various levels of ability, using a variety of equipment, and just keen to learn more. Anyone wanting to join the 1066 Camera Group can enquire at franceshadfield5@gmail.com.
The camera group also is looking for someone with professional, or teaching experience, to join the group and to assist with building up the members’ camera skills. If you have experience and a love of photographic activities, then we’d love to hear from you.
