If you dont have tickets for trooping the colour, we are offering our own celebrations for the Queen’s official birthday, with a difference, in Rye on June 11, writes Rebekah Gilbert.
The versatile singers from Rye Bay Crew are performing a 1940s night at the Queen’s Head, Landgate at 7:15 pm. They will be singing all your favourite songs from the Second World War in between a two course themed meal from the period. There will also be readings and other music.
The room will be decorated and singers will be in costume, courtesy of Dilys Mayor. So whether you fancy a rendition of Glen Miller’s Moonlight Serenade, Vera Lynn’s A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square, or joining in with We’ll Meet Again, this and very many more will be on offer on June 11. Limited tickets are availabe at £20 each available from Rebekah on 07974 001818.
