Tickets are flying fast

The National Trust’s historic Lamb House in West Street features “A Farewell Christmas Evening of Music and Readings” on Sunday December 17 and you will have to move fast to get a ticket – from either Grammar School Records in the High Street or The Lamb Players website.

There will be three performances at 3pm, 4:45pm and 6:30pm followed by the usual mulled wine and mince pies, but tickets for the last performance have apparently already all but gone.

This is perhaps not surprising as Lamb House’s tenant is moving on and the Lamb Players may be seen there no more. In recent years the historic house has showcased various dramatic events, but . . .  the National Trust promises to reveal its future plans for the house in the New Year.

Tickets are also on sale at Grammar School Records for two concerts at the historic St Mary’s church at the top of Lion Street under the Jazz Festival’s umbrella.

Mica Paris makes a return visit singing Ella Fitzgerald favourites on Friday December 15 and Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook feature on Saturday December 16. More details are on the Jazz Festival website.

The weekend before, the Wurlitzer theatre organ’s Christmas concert features the Brighton Welsh Male Voice Choir (plus mulled wine and mince pies) at 7:30pm on Friday December 8 in the Milligan Theatre in Love Lane.
