The Tuesday Painters Club of Rye held their Annual Art Exhibition once again- amazingly their 55th, at St Mary’s Centre.
The 172 paintings on show covered a diversity of subjects and media, revealing the enthusiasm of the clubs’ members. Of the pictures displayed, 32 were sold plus several more unframed from the browser rack. It was altogether a successful event.
Sadly, our president Dr Richard Manwaring Baines, who usually opens the exhibition with a few words, was unable to be with us. We wish him well.
The event seems to get busier year on year and there were 1200 visitors through the door, a record number, aided no doubt by the jazz festival being in close proximity.
