It is always a huge hit with the children that they can come to school in costumes which depict their favourite book or character. Rye Primary had a fun day on Friday, March 9 for World Book Day.

A spokesperson from the school told Rye News: “What an amazing turn-out we had for World Book Day 2024 at Rye Primary! Pupils looked amazing in their outfits, celebrating famous authors, artists and book characters. There really was the most amazing ‘buzz’ around the school as you walked past cats in hats, characters from Hogwarts and even a Tardis!.

“We spent the day creating giant displays of our favourite characters, designing book covers and the blurb of our dream books. We listened to famous celebrities reading online and even swapped teachers to listen to pupils sharing their favourite books!

“We are so grateful to all the parents for their support and feel sure it will be another day to remember for our amazing pupils.”

The pictures tell the story of the fun the children had.
