Christopher Lloyd Lecture
This year’s annual Christopher Lloyd lecture is being given by…..Christopher Lloyd! Nothing to compare with the real thing, of course, but Chris, who is Christo’s great nephew, spent many of his younger days at Great Dixter with his great uncle – from helping in the garden gardening, to going on holiday to Scotland, visiting friends, and keeping Christo’s many weekend guests company. When Christo died in 2006, Chris decided to keep up the tradition of writing a book a year (usually in the winter) and has done so ever since. He now has his own children’s non-fiction publishing company and has written a series of best-selling world history books including What on Earth Happened? His most recent title, called It’s Up To Us, tackles the challenge of how to explain the issue of climate change to young people and what they can do about it. Chris will use this year’s Christopher Lloyd Lecture to talk about the issues of communicating about climate change, weaving in his many fond memories of Christo and Great Dixter.
