Liz Finch, “The Romance of Bricks” film screening at Rye Art Gallery
A film by British avant-garde filmmaker Nichola Bruce, ‘The Romance of Bricks’ is a poignant portrait of the artist Liz Finch: painter, performer and poet.
The film is a surreal and intimate account of Liz’s life, spanning her childhood in Lancashire, her time at art school, a life-changing accident and arriving on the London scene in the early 80s.
Liz speaks candidly about her work, testament to the trust between her and Nichola. The film includes interviews with Jools Holland, Richard Strange and Nicola Bateman Bowery speaking about their admiration of Liz and her work.
