Study Day at Rye Museum: Illuminated Manuscripts
On July 5, the Museum will host a Study Day on the topic of Illuminated Manuscripts by the very popular speaker Imogen Corrigan. This will be three lectures with questions in between. We will meet at 3 East Street around 10:00 and the schedule will be as follows:
10:15-11:15 An introduction to Anglo-Saxon and Medieval manuscripts
Coffee break
11:45-12:45 The life of the medieval scribe
Lunch
14:00-15:00 A case study on Luttrell Psalter (early C14th)
The Luttrell Psalter- written and illuminated in England in middle of 14th Century – is famed as a source of pictorial information about everyday life in the Middle Ages.
