A total washout

Sadly, the typical bank holiday weather washed away all cricket across Sussex, leaving people enjoying the attractions of soft play areas and retail therapy.

The weather forecast is looking more kindly for the remaining two weekends of the season. This Saturday the 1st XI host second place Crowhurst Park who are chasing promotion. The 2nd XI travel to play Little Common Ramblers 2nds and the 3rd XI play an Icklesham XI in a charity match to raise money for the MND charity.

As we approach the end of the season, thoughts turn to the indoor coaching. On October 3 the first set of eight weeks of junior coaching starts at Rye Sports Centre. 6pm – 7pm is for under 11s and 7pm – 8pm is for under 13s. The cost will be £50 for the eight weeks with fully qualified ECB coaches and bowling machine.

The club has arranged its annual club dinner for September 27 at Simply Italian. Three course meal for £30, with drinks beforehand at the Ship Inn. At the dinner, the club will be making its awards for the season.
