#shopshuffle

Any of you who follow us on social media and particularly Instagram, will be familiar with one of our regular hashtag #shopshuffle.

We announce the new shops moving into town, post tantalising clues about those that are changing hands, or highlight those relocating to different premises.

Just this week we posted three #shopshuffles that reflect each of the above categories. The new is Richmond Hill Gallery @richmondhillgallery on Wish Ward, the tease is who’s coming to Strand House and the movers are @badmarriageretro @ryehouseantiques on Wish Street. Very shortly they will be joined by Emma @rectoryinteriors who returns to her previous street and moves in upstairs at Rye House Antiques, which we posted about last week.

Two of our local businesses have just had a refurbishment. As you will have read recently Ethel loves me @ethellovesme redecorated at the beginning of the year and Simply Rye @simply.rye also freshened up their shop. All carefully done by energetic, loving owners.

Lucy, at what was previously Lilly-Jane Hair, has re-branded her business; it is now Nookhair Rye.

Another business who recently moved and had a big upgrade, is Ono @ono_pokebowls At a time when hospitality is struggling so much, they’ve expanded and added to their menu. Brave, foolhardy or maybe just confident, pragmatic and financially acute. Running a successful small business means constantly investing time, energy and money. Sitting back and waiting for customers rarely bears fruit. Reinventing your look, embracing change and reconsidering your offer to suit the times, is crucial to keeping your customers returning.

A lot of changes in one small town and all positive. So now you know why we have a shop shuffle hashtag. And for those of you who don’t yet follow us @newsrye to keep up with this all, why on earth not?
