There was much excitement in Rye last week as news quickly spread that comedian Alan Carr had been spotted around town. Carr and former editor-in-chief of Elle Decoration, Michelle Ogundehin, were filming for the BBC television show Interior Design Masters, the reality competition show in which ten interior designers compete to win a commercial contract by transforming commercial spaces such as restaurants, salons and shops.
With the Queen of Shops, Mary Portas, the retail and brand consultant, here as one of the judges, there was much speculation as to which of the shops chosen for the makeover would be the winner.
For those who did not see the filming, we are keeping the details of the competition and the winning design vague until broadcast in the new year!
