Edinburgh Woollen Mill to re-open

There were signs of activity this week in the Edinburgh Woollen Mills shop in Rye High Street, in preparation for its re-opening. Through the locked doors, I observed staff bustling about arranging the display of goods for sale.

This is good news because on November 7, FRP Advisory, firm of administrators and specialists in the area of corporate restructuring, announced that 56 Edinburgh Woollen Mill stores had now permanently closed.

Fortunately, it appears that the Rye store is one of the remaining 328 stores in the group which will continue to trade following the lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions, while a buyer for the business is being sought.
