Fatal accident at Rye Harbour

Police are seeking witnesses to an incident in Harbour Road, Rye, at its junction with Tram Road on Thursday July 14 which led to the death of a cyclist.The cyclist, an 84-year-old Hastings man, collided with a kerb and fell. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Conquest Hospital, St Leonards-on-Sea. Sadly he died four days later. The incident occurred at around 10:45am. The coroner for East Sussex has been informed.Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting Operation Accrington.   Source: Sussex Police
