The Rye Festival of the Sea takes place in just two months time on Sunday September 9 and promises to be another fun-packed day.
There is still time to enter for both the Raft Race and the Tug of War (which is sponsored by Rye News). Entry forms and further details can be found on the website.
If you would like to have a stall along the Strand, details on how to do so can also be found on the website.
The Raft Race will be from 11:15am-12 noon around Monkbretton Bridge, afterward there will be a parade of the rafters led by Ryebellion drummers and the Town Crier along the High Street to the Strand where prizes (sponsored by Rock Channel Marine) will be given to the winning raft and to the funnest/fanciest raft (sponsored by Rye Shoes).
There will be music, stalls, food and drink, Pugwash tales read by the Town Crier in the Heritage Centre and lots more entertainment until 5pm, not forgetting the Tug of War at 3pm.
We have lost a couple of key members of the committee this year, so if you would like to get involved and to help do contact us as we’d love to hear from you.
