Rye Town Council is holding a special meeting on Monday December 17 at 6:30pm to admit Priscilla Ryan as an Honorary Freewoman of the Town.

This is the highest distinction within the Council’s power to bestow and is given in recognition of her rendering more than 30 years of voluntary service to the town in many ways, but particularly in support of the RNLI.

At any one time a maximum of eight persons may hold the title of Honorary Freeman or Freewoman of the Town of Rye, and there are four already, although the council can decide to appoint more.

  1. So glad that Priscilla is getting this recognition. Apart from her contributions to Rye she is a great supporter of many charity events and projects which happen in the town.
