It is great to see that our What’s On page has been getting a lot more interest in recent weeks and we know that many local groups and individuals have been working hard over the past few months to bring us exciting and safe events. With Festivals coming up and attractions opening again, Rye News want to do all we can to help promote those events. However, we are a small team of volunteers and we’d like your help to make this possible.
Did you know that rather than sending us your posters and emails, you are able to submit those details directly to our What’s On page via our Submit your Event form. This makes it a much quicker process for our small team and will ensure that your event doesn’t get missed.
We’ve set out instructions below but do feel free to get in touch if you need help.
How to Submit an Event
Click on the link Submit an Event (it is at the top of the screen)
You’ll see the event form below:
Adding your Event Details
The most important details to add, are Title, a brief description underneath and Start Date and Start Time. You will see a box which enables you to choose the End Time or you which you can also hide if you are unsure when it will finish.
On the right hand side you’ll see a box to add an Event Web Link if you want to give further information.
Further down, you’ll see the Cost, where you can indicate if there is a fee to attend your event. Finally select Featured Image and choose the image you want to use from your device. The image will appear at the side of your event listing. Images should be saved in jpeg format but if you are unable to do this, get in touch.
That’s basically it! We can do the rest. It won’t appear instantly as we have to read it and then publish.
Advertising your events is offered free but if you’d like to make a small donation to support our work in the community it would be much appreciated.

Many of you enjoy networking and know what’s going on in and around Rye. We’d love to hear from you if you’d be willing to become our Events Manager and post events on the What’s On page. Training can be given.
