Andy McConnell the “glass guru” held his audience enthralled at Tilling Green Community Centre last Saturday December 8 with his two workshops, Bottoms Up and Lalique, followed by a delicious buffet and wine, Andy then spent the afternoon appraising the glass that had been brought in.
Cllr. Mike Boyd the Mayor of Rye found time to call in and catch some of the workshop whilst going around the town meeting and greeting people for the Christmas in Rye festival.
At the end of the day Andy signed a copy of his new book on decanters for the lucky lady who won it as first prize in the raffle.
An informative and fun day was had by all and over £420 was raised in aid of Encompass Care which offers day services at Tilling Green for physically disabled people, every Thursday and Friday from 10am till 4pm
